Annamaria: Qigong & EBH

Qigong (Chi Kung) is a method of exercise from China that cultivates our life energy, our bio-magnetic field. Development of these movements began at least 4000 years ago. Thousands of different forms have evolved to explore healing, disease prevention, spiritual development, scholarly study, and martial arts.

In practicing Qigong, we use the breath, the mind, and body movements to improve the quality and quantity of our Qi---our energy. Our ability to concentrate is increased as the mind is quieted.Additional benefits include increased flexibility and strength of our bodies, and a heightened sense of joy, peace, and connection in our lives. We experience more zest for life as we learn to relax!

Who can learn Qigong?
All ages and levels of ability can benefit from Qigong classes, privately or with a group. Practices can be modified to accommodate many different health conditions. All students are encouraged to listen to and respect their own bodies, and to learn to be their own best healer and teacher.

What Qigong forms are learned?
Classes focus on Medical Qigong, or Qigong for health and healing. Forms taught include: The Eight Jewels and other exercises found in many different traditions; the Hands of the Eighteen Luohan, a dynamic moving form; and the Tai Luohan, an internal practice form. These forms enhance our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Personal practice of Qigong and receivingEnergy-Body HealingKtreatments complement each other effectively and beautifully.

Almost all of us feel "stuck" every now and then: sometimes it’s physical, sometimes it’s mental, sometimes it’s emotional. Whatever the arena of our lives, Energy-Body HealingK can help move the energy so we can move forward.Annamaria is proud to be part of a growing community of practicioners in the Boulder/Denver, Colorado area.

Using the hands to channel Qi brings about the balance that our bodies naturally and constantly seek. Experiencing balance on the physical and emotional levels enables us to access guidance and support from the Soul and the Spirit. We are then able to listen to the voice within and express our true nature.

This method of Energy-Body HealingK is based in Therapeutic Touch,Healing Touch and Qigong Healing. I work with the bio-electric/bio-magnetic field that surrounds us, as well as with organ meridians and the points on their pathways. I clear energy that doesn’t belong, and focus on enhancing the connection between each person’s mind and body. When blockages in energy flow are removed, and balance restored, we can respond more easily to whatever life brings us.

Treatments last from one hour to one-and-one-half hours. This non-invasive treatment is usually done with the person present; remote sessions are equally effective. The client is fully clothed throughout the session. As part of a treatment, certain qigong exercises may be suggested to support and maintain the healing process.

Annamaria Laverty began studying tai chi in 1975, and qigong in 1986. She has continued to study with different teachers since that time, and is very grateful to each of them. Study and practice have had a tremendously positive effect in her life.

Annamaria received certification to practice massage therapy from theBoulder College of Massage Therapy in 1981. She began her study of Energy-Body HealingKwith Damaris Jarboux in 1992. As well as practicing each approach on its own, Annamaria offers a combination of the two to serve the purpose of healing.

In 2006, Annamaria received certification from the European Luohan Gong Federation to teach parts of the Luohan Gong. This training took place at Embrace The Moon Tai Chi & Qigong in Seattle, Washington. She loves to share Qigong with a sense of humor, dedication, and compassion.
